I would always buy form a dealer. Private parties are never cheaper that’s why dealers never buy private party vehicles because they are way to high. Also when buying form a dealer they have certain laws they have to go by that a private person does not. You know when buying from dealer it must have a clear title. Just last week a friend of mine bought a stolen car that a fraudalant title from a private person and this can never happen through a dealer. Just 1 example. If you have title problems, the dealer must fix by law- Private party could be down the road and title problem could never get fixed.
You will get a better deal from carmax then you will from a brand dealer. Yet you will get a much worse deal from carmax then you will get from buying a car private party. It depends on confidence level, and knowledge. If you do not know how to evaluate a car from looking at it, or hiring someone to inspect it, go carmax.
Their cars are overpriced and they refuse to negotiate. I would avoid Carmax and instead buy from a private owner.
they think their car’s are better because they have been checked by carfax, my advice is to shop around for the best price and also ive heard that there’s alot of flood vehicle’s on the market now, so watch out for those,
Carmax is definitely overpriced… however, I have sold some of my cars to CarMax when I lived in the US, and they always paid VERY nicely. The good thing about CarMax is that their cars tend to be some of the very nicest cars in any dealers inventory that I have seen.
